There's Bravery in Self Acceptance...

"I think one of the bravest things we as humans can do is accept the things we don't like about ourselves, our flaws."

I wrote this quote back in March 2019... I expanded on it on an Instagram post by writing, "We are all uniquely beautiful, full of light & love. The more light & love we can see in ourselves & give to ourselves, the more light & love we will be able to see in others & give to the world."

I really love this idea that there is so much bravery in accepting ourselves. I feel like in some ways, for some people, it may be easier to be negative, judge themselves, beat themselves up, especially if the people they surround themselves with do exactly that, too.

In a world where negative news is blasted 24/7 and everyone has an opinion about something (many of which may feel or be judgmental), I feel like negativity & self judgment is actually the easier choice. Because it doesn't challenge you to GO anywhere. It doesn't require you to make any changes or have courage to go after your dream or take a risk. Self judgment & negativity ask NOTHING of you, except to stay where you are...

Positivity is the ultimate antidote AND therefore, the most brave and courageous act of Self love that we could ever take. Choosing to believe in ourselves requires so much Inner Strength. And creating the Life of your Dreams is NOT for the weak. So, going back to that idea of Self Acceptance being brave... I feel it is our responsibility to ourselves to find a way to love ourselves, ALL of who we are, including what we or society label as "flaws".
